Our hotel (Sinclairs) is perched on top of a hill just outside Ooty which can be seen down below. |

I took a bus into town and explored the botanical gardens, built in 1847 and covering 51 acres of land. |

Heading back into town I couldn't help notice the thunderous fire crackers and smoke which preceeded this communist march. |

Meanwhile Sue went off with a group which walked into town. |

| Our journey continued by heading due North, descending from the Nilgiri hills towards Mysore on the plateau below. | |
| Back at ground level we drive through two national parks seperated by the Tamil Nadu / Karnataka border were we stop for our lunch. |
