Chamundi Hill overlooks Mysore and is a popular tourist and pilgramage centre, (the pilgrims must walk the 1,000 odd steps to the top). |

| The Nandi Bull and Sri Chamudeswari Temple are the main attraction apart from the wonderful views at the top. |

The bright yellow cow on the left is also looking for food. Note the way it's eyeing up the newspaper which someone has just thrown down on the floor. |

Devaraji Market must be one of the largest in India so we spent some time looking round. |

The market stalls are very colourful with fruit and veg of the highest standards in typical South Indian style. |

| Our next destination is the beaches of Goa but that's too far to go in a day. We head for Uudipi (top left of the map) for an overnight stay. |

This woman stood under a Banyan tree gave us a reason to stop on our way. |

Just before Mangalore we passed these women out in a field planting rice. |

| The following morning we continue our journey on towards Goa. Panaji at the top of the map is Goa's capital but our own destination is Colva Beach just west of Margao which can also be seen on the map. |
| |
| Another long drive but a very enjoyable day as we head up the coast. |

During the morning we passed through this village and the market seemed an ideal place to stop. |

| Some of our group can be seen on the right buying fresh fruit and veg for our lunch. |

Paradise found! We stumbled upon this beautiful fishing village down on the coast whilst looking for somewhere to eat. |
![]() | ||
| Under strict instructions that our help was not needed we wandered down to the beach for a swim whilst waiting for lunch. |

As we continued our journey we had to stop again for one final look. |
